As a owner of legacy Android devices, I looked forward to having the AOD feature whose first generation implementation by Apple was better than Android.
To those who choose not use it, I get the battery hit issue.
That said. The device doesn't need to be woken up to check time and notifications. It's only 1hz so it's sipping the battery. It's brightness is a function of the level of your display brightness.
If you keep your phone facedown, in a pocket or purse, or your Apple Watch is out of range, the display turns off.
When I am work or in the car, the battery is being topped off.
Th point is that we finally have the feature. Enjoy it. Second generation implementation will be better. Battery drain though miniscule can be managed with infinitesimal minor effort.
Getting off my soap box, what are your thoughts? Keep it or turn it off.
