If you manually close a app yourself before hand?

Yes, you do. However the app apparently will not receive the notification if it has been killed. Then it will get the "did launch" callback instead.

App has to be installed. That's it.

Doesn't have to be running, background refresh can be disabled (I've not had it enabled in years).

For widgets, the app has to be run at least once for the widgets to be made available. For notifications, I believe it's the same (so that the prompt to enable notifications can be displayed).

If your apps are closed, you still get notifications for those apps. If you wanted it off, you'll have to go to settings.

I get doubly notified because I'm special!

No really! I have Yahoo Mail installed and it notifies me that I got an email. Then Apple Mail goes and collects email from my Yahoo account and notifies me that I got the same email Yahoo already told me I got.

Because I'm special.

You too can be special! Just add the same email address to two different email apps!

👍 ;) :D

Amateur. Have it send an auto-reply to another email address you own, which does an auto-reply back to the first one. Infinite notifications!

That happened at work once because the one box did autoreplies, and even though the email of the other that sent an email there was valid, the daemon thought it was invalid. So the daemon sent the first box an invalid email notification which autoreplied etc etc etc

I can get triples if I have text and email notifications set too. I like to know what's going on with the bank, so anything I do something that has a notification, push text email
