Am I doing something wrong?

Been syncing my iPhone 3GS to iTunes running on a Win 7 64 bit pc for a while now and having upgraded to iOS 5 on my phone i thought it would be relatively straightforward to do a sync over WIFI, Wrong!

Despite iTunes running and with the "sync over wifi" turned on, I plug my phone in to a power source but the "sync" button is greyed out saying underneath "sync will resume when DEV2 is available" - impressed it knows my PC's name but why is the button still greyed out?

Is your PC (DEV2) awake and connected to the network + running iTunes?

yes it is

If you have Home Sharing enabled, can you check to see if your 3GS can play content from the PC?

Is the Windows (or other) Firewall on and getting in the way?

disabled the firewall (AVG) and it works, need to fiddle to allow certain ports thru it but I know it will work
