After seeing the $300 price for the 2GB Apple RAM kit, I decided to buy 2GB from Crucial and put it in myself. I have installed RAM in countless PC's, always buy it from Crucial and install with no problem.
After reading several posts I started seeing horror stories of people who tried to install RAM in their MacBooks and somehow fried the logic board from not seating the RAM properly. These people claim to have experience installing RAM.
Now I'm wondering if I should just send the memory back to Crucial and live with the 1GB in my MacBook. I don't want to brick a $1K laptop to save money on RAM.
Is this logic board/RAM chip thickness problem still happening even with the newest MacBooks? Mine is the 2.16Ghz.
