Am I making a mistake?

I have just ordered a 20" Intel iMac after seeing the news on Boot Camp. I was earlier this week going to buy a Windows PC for gaming but for some reason I hesitated. The Boot Camp thing came along yesterday and I was swept up in the euphoria of being able to have OSX for my real-life and Windows for a spot of gaming all in one machine.

Now consumer paranoia has creeped into my head...

Should I have waited for Rev. B?
Will the 64 bit capabilities of Merom really have any effect?
If I want to play games too should I wait till the PowerMacs (or whatever name) come out as the Conroe chip looks to be very powerful and the added benefit of easy upgrades?

Am I right in my worries or am I just being plain silly?

Since you already bought it, I'll say you made a good choice.

Seriously, they are great computers. Of course the next models will be better, but that doesn't take anything away from the computer you bought.

Just enjoy it.

I have the latest 12inch pb, that i purchased in sept.. ontop of having doubts when i purchased it, most ppl insisted on waiting but i couldn't do to school..

now a couple months later, bootcamp, intel, faster comps, all this is happening, and is it bothering me? heh, a little, i wish i had bootcamp, but i look at it the other way.. is that in 2-3 years when i purchase a new comp, it will be the same feeling...

point is, i gurantee that you will more than satisified with your machine, maybe if something amazing comes out (bootcamp) you may for a day or two, say darn i wish i had it, but u get over it!

I guess the problem with Gaming is that you're more likely to have to upgrade, than for a lot of other applications. The iMac is a sealed unit, so apart from being a great machine, it may not be suitable for serious gamers in the longer term - sounds like a good excuse to get an Intel PowerMac (when ever that may be)

NO Apokeylips, you are not making a mistake. Your iMac Core Duo is a very nice computer that will last you for a long time to come.

It's not a mistake. My brother plays games on our Intel iMac and they all play pretty flawlessly. So if that's any indication, games (even PC ones) should run just fine. Conroe and Merom are still ages away (in the cheaper Macs), so you would have had quite a wait, or had to have spent big $$$ on a PM.

Lol... me neither... Let me rephrase that...

Xp's drivers are all working and it is running pretty fast...

There are 2 programs i have to use for work daily and they were both written specifically for my company and will only run on winblows... They are both working when i boot into xp... other than that if i am not working... i am running OSX!
