Hi there,

Bought myself a Macbook Pro 15" on Tuesday just gone. I went to the store and picked it up all fine. I got home and noticed that I didn't have installation DVD's it was however pre-installed with Lion and iPhoto etc.

I know my last macbook (just the plain ole 13" macbook) came with the OSX install DVD and the Software DVD (for iPhoto etc). I initially thought it was just a hidden partition like you get on bog standard PC's which contains the software etc but now I'm not so sure.

I scoured the net and this site and it seem's that I was meant to get some installation DVD's but I haven't. The box was sealed etc so I know it wasn't a refurb, it was still in its brown shipment box too which again was sealed.

Can anyone who has recently bought a Macbook Pro confirm this?

Lion has a recovery partition on the HD instead of any install disks. If you need to restore iLife software or other pre-included software you can do it through the app store.
