Am I on Yosemite Beta??

I know this is a dumb question but I'll fire away anyway. I started using the public beta version last winter. I was sure that when I looked at "about this mac", it would show the version number such as 10.10.3 (12ner423). Those numbers and letters inside the parenthesis were just made up.

In the last update I thought with that update I was going to the most updated version of Yosemite for the public and no longer on Beta.

I found out this past week talking to Apple Care about a different issue, she said I was still on the Public Beta Version of 10.10.4

From what I have read on this forum, 10.10.3 was the last updated Yosemite version that was not Beta ... is that correct?

I want off the Beta version. I want the latest version of Yosemite and for some reason I cannot get the restore button highlighted inside Time Machine when I highlight the backup dated 2014-10-20

Thanks for any help. I'm old, dazed and confused!

What version does show About this Mac? And what build number (available by clicking on the version number)?

And yes, 10.10.3 is the latest public non beta version of Yosemite.

Ah...there it is, thanks. The build number is 14E26a. I have not done the latest download because of a couple of reasons. I just got back from a week of traveling and I really don't see the point of updated a Beta version that I no longer want to be a part of.

I want to go back to 10.10.3, the latest public non beta version of Yosemite. I think that was around Oct 17, 2014 but when I highlight my backup from Oct 20, the restore button on TM is grayed out. I have always backed up on TM since the day I bought my computer, but I have never had to restore anything. What I have googled and found out about the process doesn't seem to work.

Bottom line ... I want to go back to 10.10.3

The girl at Apple Care recommended that after solving the problem I had when I made the call.

10.10.3 was released around April 2015.

For you to get back to that version of Yosemite from your 10.10.4 beta, you have to do a clean installation. You can download the latest public installer from the Mac App Store, which will be the 10.10.3 version, and then you have to put it onto a USB drive and boot from that, after you backed up all your documents and valuable data.
Then you boot from that USB drive and format the HDD or SSD your current beta is on, then install OS X and reinstall all your applications and copy all your data.
You can also use the Migration Assistant to migrate data from your backup, that is up to you.

When you were trying to do the Oct TM restore had you booted using the Alt key and then selected your TM drive, and at this point was the date still not active?

If you can wait a couple weeks (10.10.4 should be released soon) you can just go into System Preferences -> App Store and change the setting so it doesn't offer you beta updates any more.

OS X 10.10.3 (14D136)

I like this option better than the clean install and then reinstalling my backed up files and other apps. I can wait a few weeks. Thanks
