But cautious about this because apple doesn't say they are water resistant like the iPhones. My other Earphones were fine in the rain but these ones were far more expensive and offer more functionality so just want some reassurance :)

Thanks guys

I mean me personally I think theyd be fine with *some* rain as long as it isn't torrential hurricane like downpour BUT none of us are replacing them if it goes bad so really it's something you have to think about. Using anything outside of manufacturers direction is always a risk.

I just find it strange that something that is suppose to get wet (because it's an item you wear on the outside of your body, sweat, water and moisture) isn't waterproof.

I wouldn't call them waterproof-water resistant maybe. My experience is this: I sent my AirPods in the case into the wash-the case died, the AirPods survived wet but unscathed.

Opening the case revealed that the connector that connects the LED and charging contacts for the AirPods had shorted.

So...I guess I would leave the case at home. The pods themselves seem pretty resilient.

I saw a video where the AirPods survived washing machine cycles. They didn't test the case however. The AirPods are none repairable cause of all the glue amongst other reasons so I can see why they maybe water resistant to some degree. I would wear mine in the rain. I wouldn't take it jet skiing or in the ocean cause of salt water lol

if they are in your ears they should be fine. leaving them out in the rain is something different
