Seems to be a lot of confusion with combining accounts, etc - i think i've read every single thread, but i'm still confused over one thing:

Like many others, my gmail address is my Apple ID: myemail@gmail.com
I chose my "new" @me.com address: myemail@me.com

but.. i cant sign in to the new myemail@me.com from an iOS device (says wrong password) or via the web-interface (just says cant load mail) ..

Is this just another day1 (or, day2) issue that i have to wait out - or, am i not supposed to be able to send/receive email at this new address ??

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

I am not quite sure what login, if any, your new iCloud @me.com email is used for. I am able to access all of my iCloud stuff using the apple id I signed up with. I am able to send and receive emails from my new @me.com but haven't used it for logins.

Your new me.com account should log you into your gmail apple ID on itunes.... but it will come up with your gmail and not your me.com address. Both should also be able to be used for icloud.com

However, you cannot at this time use your new me.com address as your apple ID as for some reason the system seems to think that all these new me.com addresses are mobile me addresses when they are icloud ones..... grrrr.

i can log-in to the iCloud web page using either email address and they both go to the same place - but email doesnt work. I guess that's the real issue.

I think quite a few are having problems accessing the email part of iCloud, I myself am having no problems at the moment.... think the servers are jam packed still.
