To me the reviews in the app store shouldn't be a discussion forum, they are to rate the app. I am tired of reading reviews that say things like "I can't wait to try this app" or even "this app is too high priced, I will never buy it at that price".
Many of the reviews do nothing to help people figure out whether they want to purchase the app or not, and isn't that the point. Sometimes the descriptions of the apps aren't very, well, descriptive, and the reviews help determine if it would be useful to me. As for reviews on the price, doesn't the person purchasing the app determine the value. If you want it bad enough you will pay whatever the price is, if you don't, you won't. Eventually the market will lower the price if the app isn't selling. Don't get me wrong, if someone buys it and gives their opinion that it's not worth the price paid, that's a valid review. But to hear someone who has never bought or used the app complain about it's price is just fodder filling up space, and making it more difficult to search through useful reviews.
I for one wish Apple would limit the reviews to people who have purchased the apps and actually used them. Again, it's not a discussion forum, it's for product reviews. I realize it's day one, and things will shake out and settle down. Just venting I guess.
