Been trying to rip my DVDs to Handbrakes 'universal' preset and watch through plex on a recently bought mac mini 2.0GHz. But I'm having a nightmare ripping, which I thought would be relatively trivial.

I'm trying on both the mini and my 15" unibody MBP. Some discs are fine, but way too many are causing me trouble.

Trying Handbrake direct, MTR (2.6.6), Fairmount/finder copy, DVD decrypter in Parallels.

I'd say most of my disney stuff doesn't rip properly, and quite a few other discs.

Are there issues that might be particular to the new MBP? Are there issues when your drive isn't set to the same region as the disc? (I have two machines so could set one to R1 and one to R2).

Just getting fed up with trying this - in theory I should just be able to feed discs into the mini and get them all queued up for encoding. But I can't give this much attention to each disc or it'll take me months.

ya for me a whole lot of disney stuff dont work. use mac the ripper and then use handbrake from that file/folder.
