I prefer the rounded sides because it’s easier to hold in my hands even without a case. I hated the squared sides of the iPhone 4 & 5 series because it made it harder to hold in my hands without a case. I’ve never liked the squared sides.

I prefer rounded sides. I don't like the boxy look of the flat sides. It makes the device look clunky in my opinion, while the rounded sides look sleek.

How does this make any sense

Where my fingers curl around the edges to grip the phone are where the affected joints are when holding one handed. I have a note 10 plus also that’s easier to hold because the back of the phone has curved in edges and it’s profile is thinner. Want me to take a picture and an x ray for you too?

Im just playing with my XS naked and it feels sooo good in my hands.
Sure it feels good, but it's more slippery because of the rounded sides.

If it it had flat edges, it would be way more easier to hold and more grippy in the hands.

I use a case always so the physical feel doesn't bother me either way, but I do think the flat sides look better aesthetically. But it isn't something that particularly bothers me either way since I think the rounded sides on the 11 look fine.

Of course the round edges "feel" better because they're smooth. So does a wet bar of soap. Round edges are trickier to hold than square corners.

I much prefer the rounded sides as they make the phone easier to hold and the edges don’t dig into your palm

I strongly prefer rounded sides. I still shudder every time I think about the iPhone 4s I had many years ago.

I prefer minimizing as many round points as possible. The rounded edges make picking up and holding the thin phone without a case more difficult. Also, I’d like to see the rounding of the corners greatly reduced, allowing the edges of the screen to be either square or very close to it.

I think a lot of the rounding looks outdated and is less appealing than sharper squared edges.

I like the boxy edges of the 5/5s/SE and earlier models, but I'm not sure how well they will hold up with big phones; remains to be seen

my personal favorite ergonomically was the 3g/3gs which was like a blend of 'boxy' almost with metal edges wrapped around the perimeter of the glass front, and contoured to fit in your palm with the plastic rounded back

I think the 6/X rounded sides are comfortable, but a bit like a bar of soap.

I prefer the rounded sides as well. I do use a case. Do you think the Apple cases will have rounded or flat sides? I had a Non-Apple case once that had flat sides that was very uncomfortable to hold. Needless to say, I replaced it.

Pretty daring confession here on Macrumors. Regarding your question, I like flat sides more. They are more practical, grip is better. Looks has more character with flats sides, but that’s less relevant than ergonomics to me. Then again, I can live with the rounded ones too.
