I understand for the people with the problems - but what is so BAD about the features in MobileMe?

Don't get me wrong, but (for me) the iWeb hosting, the email, ical and contacts sync and web galleries are awesome and work seemingly well with my new Mac.

And lets not forget the incredible web experience.... I've never seen any web application that even competes with the MobileMe experience.

I don't have an iPhone/iPod touch - but in a year from I can bet that what I paid will be worth it.

Please tell me there is someone else here who isn't complaining like me?

I'm mostly ok with it. If MM->Mac push worked all the time, and they fixed the Mac->MM push(sync right now) then I'd be even happier.

I like Mobile Me. I like that its better than .Mac and that .Mac was worth $99 to me. So I am with you on this.

I'm very impressed. Growing pains are not really a surprise to me as Apple doesn't run huge public betas.

I love the idea and the capabilities, but I've seen a real adverse effect on battery life.

I'm very satisfied.

Meets all my requirements, and I haven't had any problems yet.

I have loved my transition from .mac to MobileMe. We have an iMac, HP Laptop, and two iPhone 3G's and i would recommend it to anyone. I love how it all works for my family!!! Don't know how I we would stay organized and together with out it!

Very satisfied. Road warrior capabilities are far better than those of the Blackberry (retired). Typing takes some getting used to -- but most of my mobile replies are very short. Would like more battery power, but there are plenty of ways to cope on the road (plenty of good threads on how). Mobile Me has always worked great for me (after the first 36 hours).

Another very satisfied user, I enjoy the fact that I change or add something one place and don't have to think about syncing anymore. :D

Assuming that they work, the features aren't horrible, but some are implemented in a so-so way. Ignoring the reliability and bugs, I think the biggest current issue is that the web pages aren't secure. The login/authentication appears to be secure, although the rest doesn't appear to be. The "bad guys" could see everything that you see and do on the web pages: email, contacts, etc., etc.. Many (most?) all other web email services provide for secure reading/writing, but MobileMe doesn't appear to have really secure web access.

Note that the above applies only to the web access; the non-web access appears to be secure, or be configurable to be secure.

I think that mobile me makes the $99, more justified. I have used it much more than .Mac and except for the no push to mac, its great.

So far I really like MobileMe. It has everything I need, and syncing is working well for me too (I only sync across computers) and the 15 minute "Push" doesn't bother me much either. My only gripe is the removal of the iDisk file sharing feature. I just hope they keep their word and add it in later like it says they will on the MobileMe product page.

I really want to keep it and I certainly do like it but the trade off on battery is not so much fun. Some people seem to see far less affect on battery than myself and some more. However, I'm definitely hitting at least 90 minutes less with push on. I'm wondering if I can go to fetch/manual email and keep calender and contacts on push? I wonder if that would help my situation. I'm definitely much more interested in the calender push than the email which hardly contains anything time sensitive. Thoughts?

Do you get a lot of messages?

Each time a push is done, you're doing a power-sucking transaction. If you switch to polling (say) every 15 minutes, you're doing 4 transactions an hour, and so the breakeven point is somewhere around 4 blocks of email messages an hour (for 15-minute polling). However, this does assume that the power usage for a push is the same as a poll, and that probably isn't quite true.

I think the only people that are happy with MobileMe is the people that already had .Mac. I, myself, have been using it for 2.5 years and and pretty impressed with it.

Not alot of messages per se, but an average day can span anyone from 10 emails to 50 but in my "testing" notice the quotation marks I can tell that with mobile me on I have experienced a dead battery by the end of the day where with just regular gmail I can go 2 days...I'm dead by the end of the second day for sure but still, its a noticeable and annoying difference.

Before, did you use polling or manual checking?

Pulling...ideally what I would hope for is manual/fetch email with my gmail forwarded to mobileme and then push contacts/calender. I would assume that since I do not use those two on a day to day basis it might represent a minimal loss of battery life as opposed to using with the push email.

I don't know, I really want to keep it and I do like it, but the battery aspect...:confused:
