Uhh...
I have an old 3rd gen 8gb "fatty" nano. It is my my fav "classic" iPod for its shape (square) and for its simplicity. Last week, my girlfriend washed it last week with our laundry when I was really sick. I was pissed, added more misery to an already ****** day. I knew it would be difficult to find another working model without risking eBay. I almost through it away, but decided to hold on to it to do something fun with (break it?). To my surprise, I hooked it up to my dock and it powered on and still has a charge. What a surprise, these things must be made to withstand quite a beating!

Just thought I would share my story, haven't posted in some time.

:)

Was it dry? iPods are known to sometimes withstand a washing or drop into a toilet. Some people say its best to let it dry for a day or two before powering it on because water drops in the right spots can short the whole thing out.

Sounds like you got lucky, glad to hear it.

Pretty goog luck! when I throw my iPod nano out of window I got a bad luck...

I had to laugh!:D
My first iPod was a hand me down iPod shuffle, first gen. My Son gave it to me, to listen to music while I mowed our 2 acres. It was my first exposure to anything Apple.
Mowing in the summer in Florida is a sweaty job, so after putting away the tractor, the sweaty clothes would hit the washer on the way through the house.
Yep you guessed it, so did that Shuffle. Over the years about 4 times, it was completely washed and dried. We'd take it out of the dryer when we heard it tumbling around the dryer:eek: It ALWAYS worked, and I was amazed.
My Grand Daughter now owns "Mr Indestructible", and as far as I know, still enjoying it:cool:
Because of that machine, I now own 2 BMB's that won't die, an sweet MBP,
2 iPads,, numerous Magic Mice, track Pads, and 1000 shares of Apple bought at $69.75.
Needless to say I am VERY happy with Apple:rolleyes:, all because of that little indestructible ipod Shuffle!:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:
