i have iPhone X. And while my pictures are fine they never seem to come out great. Nothing like what you see when people post pictures with their fresh out the box iPhones and certainly not like the photos you see professionals taking with these phones. But the other day I took a photo and it wa hazy. Like it looks bad. Like their was fog in the room or something. Well, I decided to wipe my lens with a microfiber cloth. I checked the lens in the light until I could tell it was clean. All the dust and smudges had collected I suppose and I feel like it was giving me meh photos. Now they’re crisp as ever. The colors are popping again. It’s just unreal.

:) well of course the lens needs cleaning regularly. Good catch though.

Doesn’t Samsung have a feature in the software that tells you when to wipe down the lens?

Now before anyone says “THEN GO BUY AN ANDROID NOVODY IS FORCING YOU TO USE IPHONE”

Let me just say iPhone should have such a feature.

Bc I never knew this trick and I’ve been using iPhone since 3G!!!!!!

Do you need someone to tell you to wash your face? Cleaning the lense is common sense, no need for my phone to tell me when to do it...

Professional photographer’s trick. Cleaning lense. The months of accumulated crap that gets on lense from pockets, fingers, etc. does not make for a good filter. Who knew?

Yes. Co-worker showed that to me last week.

Regards, splifingate

We need that feature!!!!!!

Why doesnt apple have it?!?!

So the advice is to clean the lens of the camera when it’s dirty? That’s common knowledge I thought.

How the heck would you know it's dirty!?!?

You're looking at the FRONT of the screen. Not the back!!!

I am not sure what to tell you. Keep a lens clean is the basics. That includes the occasional wipe if it’s a phone. Because most of us touch these things with our hands, dirt accumulates.

To try to sell this as a big revelation makes no sense to me.

Do you also have a magic trick to increase the size of my... ehm, megapixels?

That’s causing a fuss in [general IP location] metropolitan area?

You totally lost me with the ''washing face'' part, not because it's funny but because it doesn't make any sense. But just to remind you, everyone is different and some people might need a reminder for whatever reason. My mum could use one, every photo she sends me is blurry because she FORGETS to clean her lenses. Okay? now have a nice day

I understand why you don’t get it after reading some of your post history..
