I see on amazon you can get the "old version- 2008" of mobile me for about $60 which is $40 less then $100 for the "new version". Does it matter which version i get? Don't you just download the newest software anyway and it's the code that matters?

Thanks.

Correct! It's just the code that matters.
I just did this myself. Got the old version family pack for $94.99.
What a bargain!

I just bought the $59.99 Amazon "old version" this morning - what do you get? Just a code or is there actually any software in the package? Just curious.

All you get is a box with a piece of paper inside that has an activation code. There's also a URL on that piece of paper, where you enter that code along with your mobileme username (If renewing), and that's it.
