It is a very nice display if you're lucky enough to avoid the "lines" issue. I haven't personally witnessed the condition first-hand - not on any of the display units at the Michigan Ave. store in Chicago.

Does anyone know about Amazon? Sales tax is a killer here.

http://www.macmall.com has the new MBA's.

I've bought from them before without any issues.

Biggest advantage of Amazon is that you don't pay sales tax.. Apple charges sales tax as they have stores in most states.. and MacMall charges tax in my state as well.

Wasn't there a post on here not too long ago that said good screens were coming from Amazon and other sellers outside of Apple Stores?

I used the ones at the Michigan Ave. store for a lonnng time and didn't notice any lines, either. Maybe you should try to buy a display unit! :p

Hehe yeah, but I think those cases have more wear than I could deal with. I noticed lots of scratches, especially around the Magsafe connector.

Right now, I'm actually considering going through the Apple Store online. I can foresee Amazon.com taking at least a week to begin shipments :(

Well then good luck to the OP. Many people don't recognize the lines even if they have the 9C90 display which objectively has the lines. Anyway, the quality of this screen is horrible.

Even if you don't notice the lines, 9C90 version of the screen has them. You may notice that the screen is ******, even if you don't recognize the lines. Or you're looking at a different display.

I placed an order for the 2.13ghz model on June 9th, the problem is they don't even know when they're getting it :( I called them twice today, asking how long it normally takes for them to receive products after Apple releases them. Both times I was told they have no idea.

The waiting game begins...

I have a Rev A Macbook Air. When I first got it the color black was causing ghosting on the screen. 2 days later the display was fixed, and now the thing looks amazing. Bright, vibrant, easy to read. I love the display on my MBA. And the fixing was free.
