If you've been folowing the iPad hype closely, you'll have likely noticed that Amazon put up a page where you could register or sign up to be notified of the iPad's availability. As of today, March 2nd, this page is no longer available.

Amazon seem to have pulled the iPad (completely), from it's online stores.

Could we see iPad pre-orders on Apple.com today (Tuesday)?

why would amazon pulling their page mean that pre-orders are imminent?

I don't see the iPad if I do a search there. That link is good but a search wont hit on one.

Kinda irrelevant b/c I'll guarantee you that 100% of the first iPad shipments are going to Apple Stores. So even if they do start taking pre-orders the same day as Apple you'll still be iPad-less a week after the iPad launch.

If memory serves me, when ever apple had something new that would also hit amazon. Stuff was shipped out from apple first and people with amazon orders had to wait days if not weeks later for their orders to be fulfilled.

Personally, I'll place my order on apple.com when I get the chance.

For those thinking about pre-orders - remember the problems associated with the iPhones -
courier vans not arriving/saying they've not delivered, people going to a store and having them first...
Depends when you want them - seeing as the US will be first, and there will be a wait for the 3G Wifi.

Why wait and get the 3G wifi version? A-GPS. Makes the maps app and also the TomTom/other satnav software much more useful!

I don't expect the Apple Online Store to change today. I don't know when it will change but doubt it will be soon. Maybe in a couple of weeks. If the delays are true, the wifi and 3g might end up out at the same time.
