Looking at some deals at the Amazon Renewed store.

£273 - £285 - XR 64GB
£298 - X 256GB
£309 - XS 64GB

The person I’m looking to buy this for is on a 64GB iPhone 7 & doesn’t really use that much storage on the device.

Which one would you go for?

I’m assuming you mean 32gb iPhone 7? As there is no 64gb for the 7 line, unless you meant iPhone 8.

Based on your options I’d probably go for the iPhone XS

I'd go for the XS. OLED screen, higher DPI and nicer camera than the XR. The X is just older and slower. As storage isn't an issue. I see no reason to consider it.

Pay attention to the sellers. A lot of them have horrible feedback. To decrease the chances you'll have to deal with returns. Woot is Amazon itself. Verizon also has a reseller account. I don't recall if it was still an issue. But I think the Verizon models have the superior Broadcom chipset while the AT&T/T-Mobile (GSM) uses the inferior Intel chipset for 4G LTE.

I got the Verizon XS one from the Verizon reseller account on Amazon. It was in great condition. Unlike some sellers. They included a really nice aftermarket quick charger. While others often just include the cheapest no name junk they can get away with.

If this is a present. Inspect it first in detail.
- Make sure everything works.
- Look for scratches (especially the screen and lenses)
- Look for any signs of burn in or other screen damage
- Check the battery health.
- Try the cameras.
- Try out a sim card.
- Test FaceID
- Test the WiFi and Bluetooth
- Make sure the charger port isn't loose
- Discharge the battery to 50% (in case it might sit for a while)
- Then reset it for them to set it up themselves and power it down.

The XS is the better option considering only like £40 difference between all the phones. Might as well get the newest phone in my opinion, and that 5.8" screen size is nice and compact.
