Yeah, the HDX 8" model is probably the best deal out there today. (Assuming you are an Amazon Prime member, this is really an awesome deal.)

From all I've read, the HDX is a better tablet than the N7, except for the fact that it's locked into Amazon's ecosystem. If you don't mind that (it's pretty complete, and now you can download Amazon prime videos onto the Kindle), it's a pretty sweet device.

Personally, I like the Play Store and pure Google, so I am sticking with my N7. But the HDX (some co-workers have them) is a very, very nice device.

I preordered the 8.9-inch HDX and it's supposed to arrive on Thursday yet as of now it still hasn't shipped so I don't what the deal is. Seems like it should have shipped by now if it is going to arrive on schedule.

Oh, that's usually the case. They'll end up expediting it on their cost. Been there done that.
