I googled and nada. Maybe they're too focused on cutting credit for people with FICO scores in the top 95%. ;)

Why, so it will be even easier to abuse credit and get into a huge finacial hole?

ummm first off mind your business.... Second off unlike many people I am able to balance and budget and manage my finances. Third, the reason for any financial app is to monitor your finances on the go, i.e pay bills, transfer funds, check available funds. Just because I have the credit there to spend it doesn't mean im going to spend..... So think twice before shooting some smart a!% comment

Use that card for a class in humor. You can pay bills, transfer funds, check available funds via your bank. And at no point in the comment did I personally reference YOU.

Well then you need to direct your comment somewhere, because the way you have it only points to me! Also ones bank doesn't show all accounts i.e Checking Account is separate from Credit Cards and same with Loans. People have more than one financial institution they deal with

Hi MacIver,

ehhh I have a problem putting my card number or user name and info into a program not made by Amex..

I understand your concerns. My name is Marco and I am one of the developers behind Quids, the iPhone app for your AMEX card.

We are about to submit an update that supports the US portal.

Your card number is NEVER requested. Your login and password for the US amex portal are requested, but it's safe: the app talks to AMEX servers directly (no intermediary servers or services are used), and via SSL. It's no different than using a normal browser.

Should you need additional clarifications, please feel free to get in touch with me.

Marco

One of my goals for 2010 is to perry the number down a bit.

or . . .

pare \ˈper\ transitive verb

1 : to trim off an outside, excess, or irregular part of <pare apples> <paring his nails>
2 : to diminish or reduce by or as if by paring <pare expenses> <the novel was pared down to 200 pages>

Snort!

Okay, one of my goals is to reduce the number of cards that I have.

Happy! :p :D

I saw something called "Quids" in the app store...says its coming to US American Express soon

Yes we are about submit an updated version for the US market.

Quids is not a one-size-fits-all app, it is specific for AMEX cards and we're already working on the 2.0 version, that will bring many additional AMEX-specific functions.

Quids is not limited to a specific country, it is an international app - we're adding more and more countries as we speak. Your balance is optionally displayed as a badge on the application icon, so that you always have a visual cue of your spending.

Why don't you try it? It's currently FREE (for a limited time):

http://itunes.com/apps/quids

..it's dead easy to use, and if you have a US card you'll be automatically informed about the next update, which includes US support.

We love suggestions, too: please get in touch with us, we're building the next release and we'd like to hear from you.

Marco

Not sure I'd want to give my Amex account details to an indie dev's app, but that could just be me being hyper paranoid.

Yes there is an iPhone app for American Express

Yes there is an iPhone app for American Express and it's free. I just downloaded it and it gives me my card account details and MR points as well. So cool
