There has never been a game made quite like it, I have played other FPS but I always come back to AA for the game play and teamwork.

Finally. It sucks that even the army isn't willing to support that mac on their only video game

rgr that bummer. getting a mbp soon. gonna run xp just so I can play aa 2.8. Gonna stay in 2.5 also though.

From my understanding, AA support on Macs and Linux (client version at least) was a lone man operation. It's incredible that he managed up to 2.5.

AA 3.0 is quickly approaching though... it should be interesting.

I agree with ya Jonnym, the team work and atmosphere of AA is awesome. It kept me entertained for years. It's unfortunate that they had to keep patching and patching and not simply develop a new game. Jeez, Crysis will have come and gone by the time the Army finally releases 3.0. (I left AA for Crysis since the graphics of AA are stuck in the stone age... and AA is a sinking ship: community is slowly disbanding.)

I was a heavy AA player on the PC - by far the best game IMO on the platform because it forced teamplay on you! Never played it on the mac because it didn't seem to be updated at all.

Is anyone actually playing this on mac? Do they use the same servers as the PC crowd?

I wonder if my account is still active, I sure don't want to go through marksman and special forces training again!

There are currently 7,469 (according to www.draat.net) active player accounts on AA version 2.5, and yes you can play PC and Linux gamers if they are on v2.5 too. In the game you cannot tell who is on Mac, Linux or Windows, It all looks the same.

Most of the players however are on 2.8.3.1 (some 390,000) but this is a Windows only version.

As for as I know, inactive accounts are not deleted so yours should still be there. Inactive accounts also show up as being on the latest version which is why the number of people playing 2.8.3.1 seems so high.

Americas Army

Hi All
AA rocks! I started playing AA on a pc. I have moved over to mac. Much better. I have a problem with the keys when joining a server. What keys and what steps do I take to log onto a SA server to play. PC all different.
Can you help. Thanks for links to fix 2.5.

Hi, I don't know what an SA server is. To join a server click on it in the list and then click join. The controls should be the same as the PC version. You do need a mouse with 2 buttons though because it is very difficult to play with only 1.
PS. The console key is the `~ next to the left shift key.

Mac AA 2.5 hotfix A and B links

Would love to be able to fix frozen server list on my Mac (v 2.5) - but not able to get the above links to work - can you check these or post some more?

with thanks

Mark

Does anyone google stuff anymore?

I personally don't like to download anything that isn't coming directly from the developers site. When a developer doesn't have it on their site anymore, it really becomes disconcerting. Thus asking for where on the developers site it is located, after searching the site, is just trying to be safe. Since they don't support it any longer it raises suspicion of the versions that are located on other places.

I downloaded 2.5.0 from filefront but I think there are no servers? Is no one playing this anymore? Do I need any other patch maybe? Dang I wanted to play..... and the older versions of AA were better too......

Problem

I first installed hotfix b before hotfix a and it now can't open a file called americasarmy250a.html. Is there a way I can fix this?

:confused:please?

where?

I looked for the America's Army 2.5.0 Hotfix B patch but I can't find it and the link that was posted does not work. can some one put up a new link or some thing?
thanks

Hi, I just made an account for AA 2.5.0 Mac, but when i click the link to activate/register my account it says that the link doesnt work?
help me please!

Makes me wonder how the Windows version would perform in a Windows XP or Win 7 virtual machine via parallels on my MBP. IIRC, isn't the game still using the original Unreal engine? That was the only time I've seen it in action on a friends PC years ago when I still had a G3 based iBook.
