Amount of space used by the Podcast app?

Hi,

Under the iOS 9 native Podcast app, I have a total of 150MB of data under the Documents And Data.
I found this link with users facing the same issues.

Even If I don't download Podcast episodes to listen when I am not connected to any internet, it still shows the space as 150MB. I only listen to episodes within the Podcast app without downloading them. Is there any way to delete this amount of space somewhere?
Again, I don't see ANY Podcast episodes under the Documents And Data section and I still see 150MB of space used up...

Another question, even if I DO NOT download any episodes to my iPhone to store it for offline listening, does this mean that storage space will still accumulate?

I really hope that 9.3 will solve this issue.

I believe what you are seeing is the cache of what you listened to. I'm pretty sure it's nothing to be alarmed about. It eventually clears, or the space it takes gets overwritten if that space is ever needed by something else.

This happened to me too. I was downloading and listening to a few podcasts and saw the 150 mb used space even after deleting everything in that app.
Will never use the podcast app again. I just don't like the fact that the space gets occupied even if it'll be eventually cleared up when needed.
Did a factory reset to free up the space.

You did a factory reset for 150MB? I would suggest not looking at "other" data in iTunes then. Sometimes its 1GB with no data.

I listen to podcasts all the time without downloading too. Mine shows 140mb used. It does not accumulate overtime. I've been listening to podcasts this was for many months. Im sure lagwagon is correct. It's just a cache. Chill out. If you don't like it then don't use it. The only way to clear it is to probable factory reset and never open the podcasts app! I used to be all OCD about things like this but now I don't care. I just use the phone and charge it when it dies. Spending time and energy on worrying about these little things just isn't worth it IMO. Enjoy your device!

Yeah, I can chill out, because when the new iPhone 5SE comes out, I will probably get that with MORE storage space anyways.

The main issue I should be worrying about instead are the iOS updates which takes a lot more space...
