Wouldn't it be fantastic if you could control powerpoint presentations using this remote? I drool over the idea of pressing the menu button and one of the options on that screen that pops up is a list of all my power point presentations. Is this at all possible?

I do know Keynote is supposed to support the remote, and it might be possible to use it within PowerPoint the same way, just try it. ;)

I can't until my macbook comes so I thought that maybe someone else had made progress. :)

As far as I know Keynote can open and run any Powerpoint presentation. You could try to remote control your pp presentations via Keynote with the free iWork 06 trial version that comes with you mpb.

Good lateral thinking there!

WHat we really need is to be able to use the remote that comes with the iPod and dock setup to be able to control more avaliable applications on your Mac. That would be a great selling point for the remote. When you use the remote with the new dock signals MUST be sent to the computer via the USB cable. I am sure someone could develop software to enable this, oh hang on they are called Apple!

This was my thought as well, since I have both PP and Keynote. I am not sure what the guys would think of me using Keynote on the Redmond campus though.

Speaking of using the Apple remote for other things...does anyone know if they can be used on the iM3 speakers? I don't know much about IR and such, but why not?
