With the news that the Air is selling well people have been commenting saying they have yet to see one in the wild. Well if I'm not mistaken I just saw my first one. Sitting in front of Carl Rove on the election coverage on FOX News.

Wonder how Al Gore feels about that? hehe

Man, I was just thinking about him! :p He really needs to stop being so hypocritical.

Anyway, rant aside, that's pretty cool! Nice eyes! Was it prominently displayed?

It's pretty obvious if you know what you're looking for. The :apple: is at an angle to the camera, but it's definately an MBA.:D

Nice work fox! I've noticed that use of Mbps and MBs on some of the news casts lately. Pretty cool to see apple machines up there.

While the folks at Fox News may be using Mac notebooks, do you suppose it's possible that the MBA Karl Rove was using was actually his? He's a consultant/contributor to Fox News, not an actual employee.

And let's not forget that one of the most prominent Mac supporters out there is Rush Limbaugh. (Not to get political. Just pointing out that fact.)

The good side of the grass.
I don't think any of the on air computers actually belong to an anchor, contributor or guest. They've replaced the desks w. glass tops and video-in with fancy homey kiosk kinda' thingys and stools. The Apple products are teleprompter/newsfeeds/time for commercial break tools and are rotated w. the different crews. Aft. may all have MBBlacks, evening MBPs, etc. I could bet Apple has a hand in not covering up the prominent Apple logo as they usually do w. laptops. Smart marketing.

I saw a guy with one at the bar last thursday. What kind of douchbag brings their Macbook Air to the bar only to leave it open on the table not even using it the entire time?

I left mine in my bag!

I live in Brooklyn and commute to Manhattan every day; I also regularly go to many Starbucks and similar wifi cafes. I have not yet seen an MBA in public yet, whereas I have seen 2 EEEs already!

As far as the bar thing goes, whenever my girlfriend and I go out to eat, we always have both our iPhones going if there's wifi. If our table is big enough and I have my MBP with me, I have that out.

We live near a very cool Brooklyn wifi cafe that is usually 80% MacBook and MacBook pro users. They recently changed the furniture and put in huge tables with power strips right next to them to accommodate the dozen Apple laptop users that are often there on nights and weekends.

But if my girlfriend and I could get brain implants that allowed continual internet access, we would. We are obviously big Snow Crash aficionados!

Very OT:

This quote above is what has become terribly wrong with the family unit in the United States.....And before you flame me, think about it.

I know what you are talking about. I went to a pizza place years ago, cant remember the name, but in every booth they had a small tv that you put a quarter in and it displayed some tv show. You go out to eat with peeps, and sit and watch tv... didn't get the concept but it probably works for others :)

On topic, I haven't seen any Air's in the wild but the past month or so has consisted a strict regiment of sleep and work trying to get my iPhone

They looked like MBA for sure. The lids were shinny. Maybe they had InvisibleShields installed :)

Saw that last night. It is so easy to distinguish the MBA from any other of the the MB products since it is the only one w/ an aluminum encloser and black keys.
