This idea isn't fleshed out by any means, but I wonder if it could be the beginning of a simpler approach to copying, compared to trying to precisely highlight text with your finger.

Depending on what app you're in, you would tap and hold a word, wait for the magnifying glass to pop up and disappear, then you would get a new pop-up option. In any non-editable mode (reading a web page or an email) you could skip the magnifying glass delay altogether.

good idea, but what happens if you wanna copy more then just that one paragraph into a clipboard? I find myself copying many paragraphs, and even hole articles.

or this sentence, this url, this phone number, this address...

doesn't work

edit: i'm really sorry for anyone with two left hands.

The Two Left hands thing made me think of "selecting text two the left". Just in case your wondering where the oddball post came from lol

you could simplify that little pull down menu you created by having two options only. All you need is a pop up that has "COPY" and below it "MORE" .

How it works:
1. You press and hold a word. It gets highlighted and you can choose COPY or choose MORE
2. If you tap "MORE" it intelligently selects text to the left. the entire sentence up to a "." or ","
3. Again, you can tap "COPY" at this point or continue to tap "MORE" . the more you tap "MORE" the more text is selected to the left line by line and paragraph by paragraph.

I believe this is similar to how selecting text works in Mac OS X by single click, double click, triple click etc?

i like the copy/paste method demo-ed in the youtube video...........the one that ends with "i love you"

:)

Yeah, i agree, thats a much better alternative to this one. This one is just too complicated, and too much that it leaves out.
