My mail now shows after a few weeks absence, 1522 messages as it sits in the dock. I have deleted all I can think of and have not hit the right one yet. It shows "RSS-Gmail" and with a lot of messages but I cannot access that. Help me figure out how to get it back to no messages...

Log into GMail's web interface and see if you can do anything about it from there. I'm still unclear as to what exactly you are trying to do- are you trying to remove the 1522 messages in a mailbox (in which case "Select All", "Mark As Read" should fix your problem...), or are you trying to get rid of "RSS-GMail"?

Thanks Miles but I have deleted everything in the inbox, marked what I could as read but it still stays which is why I think it must be tied to the RSS stuff. Do not really know what that is and that may be the problem.
