Itunes showed iphone could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1601) and again with the same thing error (1600)

I'm sure it'll be fixable... Calm down and tell us what you were doing, and the setup of your iphone..

Which firmware were you installing?
Is your iphone unlocked?

etc, etc...

There is this cool new thing called GOOGLE. When you have a error- and especially when you have the specific error number- it is quite EASY to search for that error code, and find specific solutions.

You can also search this error code on Apple.Com support- there is a solution posted there, too.

Google is your friend.

Seems as though you are trying to option-restore to an earlier firmware. This error has something to do with the baseband not being downgradeable. Restore to 1.1.4 then use ZiPhone to unlock.
