I never did it but.. Does your computer have an input jack? Then you would need some type of recording program.. From there I am sure others on here could help..

I have MBP with microphone input

Then all you have to do is record the voice mail on your computer as a wav file. Convert the wav to an MP3 (there are a number of converters on the internet), and then convert it in iTunes to an ringtone by the normal methods for converting MP3's to ringtones (method is all over the internet or in threads here in MR).

Thanks, but I cant get the voicemail to make any sound thru the line in mic, it shows sound status, when I start the vm, but can not hear anything

Voicemails are stored in /private/var/mobile/Library/Voicemail as amr files and ringtones are stored in /var/stash/Ringtones.XXXXXX* as m4r files. If you can find a program to convert amr to m4r, you can copy the voicemail to your computer, convert, and copy it to the ringtone directory.

*The X's are gibberish, you'll have to find out what they are on your phone.

He has to be jailbroken to get at those files. He hasn't mentioned being jailbroken, so I doubt he is.

If the OP is jailbroke, then ssh into those directories and copy the files.

OP, you should be able to record from the headphone jack to your line in jack on your computer. If not, you're doing something wrong.
