Well, we know about all the other "problems" about MobileMe, but there is something that makes me think twice about this service. I'm a gMail + gCalendar user, trying to move to MobileMe. Would be perfect because I have a Mac + iPod touch, and I need the integration of this service with these devices.

Today I have a program called SpanningSync, that sync my iCal with gCalendar (bi-directional). Its works very well and in the next version (free) it'll sync contacts too.

But, I would like something more "professional". Like MobileMe.

I'm trying to use MobileMe, but the first thing that is bothering me is: no server rules. Using gMail I have something called Labels and I can create rules to organize my e-mails. Labels are very similar than Folders. But MobileMe dosen't offer this feature. It's sad, specially because Apple says: Exchange for the rest of us. Right??? But..... it's not like that.

Do you think the lack of this feature is bad or not??? Do you think Apple can add this feature later? Do you think they implement this feature now??

I want to know your opinion.

Thanks.

I want this as well. I won't be able to move to MobileMe until two things have been changed/added:

A) Server Side Rules

B) Allowing me to send from my aliases on the iPhone

Well, you are able to send from your alias if you setup your MobileMe manually, but it's a big letdown they don't have Server side Rules as of yet. I am going to let me trial expire unless Apple puts this in.

Server Side Rules is the most important issue left for me. I was using Yahoo Push for the 1st year and it worked well. It allowed for Server Side Rules, however, it would only push the InBox, I had to manually check the other folders so it was not that usefull. If MM add's Server Side Rules they also need to Push all folders or they need to implement the feater as Client Side Rules. My understanding is Exchange support has the same problem. You can use Server Side Rules but it will only Push the InBox.

As far as sending email from a alternate email address on the iPhone. I setup extra SMTP Only Accounts for Sending from other email address's (I have multiple) and it works great for me. I don't see the "on behalf of" text that I see when using a different From Address in Outlook. However, you can't do this in MM Web Client which for me is not a problem since I don't use it (I use Outlook when not using the iPhone).
