Had this problem on El Cap and now on macOS Sierra. Mac (13 inch, Early 2015) freezes when I scroll the webpage up and down. Even if I just read text with no animations, flash etc. And it is with 16 Gb RAM onboard.

Hi, I also had the same problem on El Capitan. Finally I reverted back to Yosemite via internet recovery at the time because of the freeze.

I bit the bullet and upgraded to sierra from Yosemite, but with a clean install instead of an upgrade, and I haven't encountered any freeze so far. So maybe clean install is the way to go?

Hi! Will try to do the same today.
By the way, last time I erased the disk and then installed Yosemite via Internet recovery (didn't solve the problem). Does this method (IR) count as a clean install?
