I had a post about a week ago that I had purchased a 27 iMac along with a MacBook Air. Well today I took the 27 iMac back to the store and they gave me a new one, hardly a question was asked. They just wanted me to show them what it was. There was something lodged behind the glass, just about dead center in the screen and I just could not get used to it even though it was very small. As soon as I turned it on, the guy I was dealing with said "yep, that would drive me crazy". I thought I might be able to live with it but decided I could not. Very happy with the service they provided.

Screen looks good on this one, no bits behind the glass that I can see and no dead or stuck pixels either. Only thing is this one seems a bit slow to react on the network side after being taken out of sleep. The first one I had never seemed to lose the connection during sleep.

Glad to hear, I'm getting a MBA soon then I will have a setup similar to yours.

I think I have a little dust or something stuck behind the glass of my imac too. It's on the bottom left hand corner, and most people wouldn't notice. Other than somebody like me, who has OCD with his electronics lol.

I tried everything to take it off and it's still there. Everything about the computer has been great for me, so I don't want to try and return, it and possibly get something worse like a yellow tint. Especially since I bought it online and would be more annoying to return.

Gee, I took my old macbook pro in which had the nvidia issue (where the display just blacks out never to be seen again). I took it into the apple store and low and behold, because the display went out and i restarted it a few times trying to get it going, it must have thrown the motherboard. Because the motherboard was gone it was not passing the nvidia issue test. So yah I have a 17" Hi Res display MBP which I paid almost 4grand for just sitting in my cupboard useless. Thanks Apple service. lol not. Owned it just over 1 year i swear like 1 year and 15 days and didn't have apple care on it because it is mega expensive on laptops. I think there was some kind of software with a timer on it waiting for my warranty to run out before it unleashed its powers on me.

After that i almost went back to PCs but just can't stand windows. I can use it fine and not a novice at it either i just dislike using it. I am currently using an 08mac pro and wanna get a new machine soon. I am loving the look of the iMac rumors for next refresh but I am also thinking maybe I should just go with a PC for half the cost and maybe better performance :\ At least it would be a cheaper repair if something went wrong. I dunno lol /hijack

Get quotes from 3 different tech shops on a repair bill. Call apple and ask that they help cover the cost of repair cause it was barely out of warranty and u spent $4G on it. Tell them.
