Since using my PATA SSD + Newertech battery equiped 12" Powerbook G4 as a daily driver on my train commutes, I was on the lookout for the same machine with the same specs so I would have a spare I can leave at home and experiment on ( next on the todo list Gentoo PPC ) .

Found one for 55 EUR, description stated it included a new battery but no clear picture of the left handside of the keyboard , I know why now.

In the package that arrived today :

Tucano Second Skin sleeve

Original Power adapter

Original Apple battery ( runtime 11 minutes LOL )

New Original Apple Battery ( it's charging now ) and I'm cloning the install so cannot check the charge cycles yet.

And off course the Powerbook G4 12" 1.5Ghz , 95 GB HDD, 1.25GB RAM , slight dent on the right top corner,
almost no scratches, screen looks a lot better than the other one BUT it misses 2 keys and the tilde key is a bit loose.

After all not a bad catch, cloning as we speak.

Another question, what do you guys use to clean the screens on these ?

I would use a microfiber cloth but that won't always get rid of the stains ? Any fluid or foam solution ?

Do you need replacement for the missing keys. I bought a defect cheap PBG4 15" to replace another G4's yellow-tinted screen and don't need the keyboard...

Thanks a lot for the offer bobesch ,but I just found a spare one.

I forgot that my first 12" was bought on eBay.de and had a QWERTZ layout for which I bought a spare and swapped out all the keys with the umlauts.

If you ever need keys of a QWERTZ keyboard for a 12 inch , I got some.

Talking of Clamshell keyboards, I'm after a QWERTY too.........;)
Oh, no - I'm looking for the "QUERTZ" version with "äöüß" Umlaut-keys.
If you happen to get a "QUERTZ" and want to get rid of it I'd be happy to send you one of my "QUERTY" in turn...

Ok, I'll bear that in mind.
In fact I've been negotiating quite fiercely for a TAM over the last few months. We've just about agreed on a price acceptable to us both, and the guy said he'd also throw in an iBook Clamshell. Not seen the Clamshell yet, but apparently it's functional, and I don't doubt that's it's (yet another) AZERTY keyboard. Damn!
