I've seen a lot of posts comparing the size of the new 16.2" MacBook Pro to the old 17" Powerbook G4 1.67 Ghz. Here are a few photos for context to show you the size difference. Also, check out the sheer quantity of ports on that 17". I'm counts DVI, S-Video, Ethernet, Firewire 800, Firewire 400, 2xUSB 2.0, Modem, Headphone Jack, Audio In, PCMCIA card slot, charger port, Kensington lock, Superdrive (does that count as a port?!?).

I had the first 17. Even by then S-video was a dying standard and was being abandoned so it was a wasted port.

Firewire couldn't transmit video. If it could, the DVI and S-video port would have been dropped for a dongle.

I tripped over the power cable and the 17 hit the floor and got dented. Only time I ever did that. MagSafe came out the year after.

I love this picture, it's like the 2016-2019 era never happened.
Haha! Exactly! I actually have a ton of other 6080, PPC, G3, and G4 desktop and portable Macs. For some reason I've never been a big fan of many computers that had the intel chips inside. I'm hoping that this transition to they own silicon will start brining out more creative devices like the good old days.
