Always love Ars’ detailed review of new OSes.
In short, it looks like Android 10 is another step of Google realizing that the way iOS does things might be the better way, like gesture navigations, sand boxing, etc.

I really love a more secure Android, even if it drops the geeky features. I love Android phones, but never want to fully commit to it for critical stuff because of the security and privacy issues, and the fact that the developers on Android keeps taking advantage of the holes. The tighter Google does to Android’s security and privacy, the better.

They do have some great articles on OSes as you said...

A glut of iOS 0-days pushes their price below cost of those for Android

During the last few months, we have observed an increase in the number of iOS exploits, mostly Safari and iMessage chains, being developed and sold by researchers from all around the world. The zero-day market is so flooded by iOS exploits that we've recently started refusing some [of] them.

Dynamic System Update—(Dual Boot) sounds amazing. Something like this will give the custom rom community new life. And maybe OEMs can now allow vanilla Android as the guest OS, for those that want it.
