Looking for feedback from people who use Android 13 based devices in combination with AirPods Pro (2).

  • Is there a way to update the AirPods Pro firmware without an iDevice?
  • Does AirPod Pro's ANC work when used with Android devices?
  • does spatial audio (the surround effect) work with an Android device that supports Android's version of surround sound?

I am not sure but my answers are:

1) No. This might not be a big problem because you can use someone else’s iDevice for an update.
2) Yes
3) No

I would go for a Buds2 Pro or Freebuds 2 Pro.

Never heard of the Freebuds 2 Pro... but I never use my AirPods with my Fold. Because the experience is handicapped... I would choose headphones based off the Android device I'm using.

If I have a Samsung phone... I'll go with some Galaxy Buds, Pixel phone... Pixel buds. And whatever phone you have... I'm sure they have earbuds to pair them with. Because same rules apply with AirPods and iDevices... earbuds features tend to be tailored to go with their OEMs.
