Android 4.4.4 for Nexus users just dropped

Yes, you read it right. 4.4.4 is now live for all Nexus devices. Either wait for your device to get the update or download the rom and binaries yourself via Googles factory download site.

BTW, if your phone/tablet is running fine on 4.4.3, I wouldn't bother updating. If you are having issues like battery drain, def update.

I don't have the changelog for 4.4.4, but it is likely a small patch for bugs and/or stopped/restarted Dalvik runtime. Just my guess.

Probably best to just resign to the fact that you are carrying a mini computer with you and you will never get a battery life worth mentioning .. People want fast phones, bigger phones, better screens - all eats into battery.

Like PCs. I doubt they got any faster over the last 5 years. Software just gets more bloated.

"Oh look, more performance in that hardware, let me suck it right out for you" :p

That's weird. Every phone I've tried lasts full day with ease. So thinness is more important for comfort.

LOL that definitely has some truth in it.

Kit Kat running better on old hardware than previous versions was a nice change of the relentless - must use more resources approach to software

PC's have plateaued hardcore. I wanted to cry while reading the thread on here about continuity requiring bluetooth LE. People saying a 3 year old Mac is out of date is pure rubbish. If we could get some solid long term software support on phones, we should get to that plateau on mobile soon too.

Pretty much all obsolescence these days is because of short term software support. Tech specs used to be a reason, but not really anymore IMO.

Ha, got a 2006/2007 Mac Pro in the garage with a 750GB hard drive purely as storage for secondary backups. Can't bring myself in throwing it out. Having said that, I forgot the login so I always hope the NFS server comes up when booting otherwise its a bust lol
