Android and mac intergration

Ive been considering switching to a Sony Z3 recently but I love how easy everything transfers from mac to to iPhone and don't really want to introduce more hassle into my life having to change everything to google accounts and manually sync things.

Are there any mac apps that take care of everything to make android work as seamlessly as the iPhone or anything like that? I love the look of android hardware but also want an easy life.

Not to sound harsh, but do you think apple would make apps so that android phones work as seamlessly?

Okay, with that out of the way I'll say MANY many Google employees use apple laptops and desktops. During their keynotes they all use macs. I'm sure they do have it all figured out. I use Windows so I can't help. I do know many of the things iphone an ipad are just getting to the point they can do (text from phone, tablet and desktop), photos in the cloud that are easily accessible I can and have done for about 1.5 years, now. Who knew?

I've used Android for a few years and have Macs at home. The only limitations are if you have iTunes purchases video or must absolutely use Safari. I use gmail/Google services to sync contacts, calendar, and email, sync bookmarks and passwords using Chrome, Dropbox auto-upload to sync photos and video to my Mac (and also backup to Google+ and Flickr), Wunderlist for tasks/reminders, Evernote for notes, Google Play Music to sync music via iTunes. The beauty of this type of setup is that I can do all the same on an iPhone or Android.

I switch a lot of phones back and forth between iPhones and Android phones.
This is what I use so my Android phones can sync with my iMac and MBP.

1) iSyncr lets you sync all of your music and playlists to your Android phone through iTunes. Works perfectly!

2) Android File Transfer (AFT) free download from Google. Lets you connect your Android phone to your Mac and all of your storage is available as a external hard drive. You can drag and drop files and completely manage your data. Awesome!

3) Dropbox I have Dropbox set to upload every picture or video i take to the cloud. Dropbox client can be installed on your Mac so you can access all of your photos and videos on your Mac or through the Dropbox website. You can also share those pictures and videos with friends and family.

4) Google Contacts. I use Google Contacts to keep all of my contacts upto date in one place. This allows me to have it sync on my Macs too. So my Android phone and my Macs all have the same information. I can go to Googles website and make one change and it replicates to all my Android phones and Macs.

5) I use Google Calendar as well using the same process as #4 above.

There are a few options for that. In addition to what the other posters suggested, Smoothsync apps will keep your contacts and calendar in sync between Google and iCloud and the Google music service is similar to iTunes match and is offered without charge.

I too am looking to switch back to Android. The Sony Z3c is at the top of my list although I don't see myself updating for at least 6 more months.

I agree. I've recently moved towards using Evernote again and using Wunderlist. They're multi-platform friendly and also have good native apps for Mac. As for music, I've been moving away from iTunes towards Spotify.

I've thought about getting a Chromebook but I'd like to see where Google is going with that because I don't find the current options very appealing. I guess I'll continue to use my Macbook Air for the next few years. I hope that Google can come up with better Android / Chrome OS integration.
