Android and OSX Messenger?

Hi Guys,

Is there a free app for OSX that will send/recieve text on an Android phone?
I am using SMS For Apple iChat. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mdr.sms_integration_for_messages

It's not free, however. I just need a simple app that is free and allows text message hand offs between the two ecosystem.

I use WhatsApp Web to communicate with people who don't use Apple devices from my Mac.

What about Hangouts? Can’t you use it on your Android phone to sync SMS as well? For the Mac, I heard about this application a few days ago which also seems to support Hangouts.

take a look at mighty text. it will do what you ask and more. just need the chrome browser with the mighty text extension. and it will run on any OS even linux
