So now the question is, why buy a Blackberry? Why doesn't Blackberry just stop making an OS and load Android to begin with? The process of sideloading via Snap or any app also seems disjointed and more complex than it should be.

Also, since Snap is essentially allowing any Google Play app to sideload onto your BB phone (even without the consent of the developer) how is this getting by piracy rules?
From the Crackberry site:
Snap is essentially a front end for the Google Play Store so you know APK files downloaded from there are safe and secure as they can be. The apps have passed Google Play's approval process and through the use of Snap, it's no different really than downloading from the Google Play Store directly.
I know for a fact, not every developer has authorized the use of their apps for Blackberry Phone use. And Google certainly isn't onboard with piracy.

Then use Amazon or similar.

There are security, usability, and multiSDK reasons why BB just using Android would not be acceptable. Maybe also realtime issues.
