I wonder how usage is.
There is absolutely no way anyone can know if iPads or the various Android tablets are used more or less. Ad based analytics can only tell you so much, and even those stats are flawed since Android tablets can bypass ads altogether.Lots of people are getting these smaller budget tablets so I can see this.
Obviously the iPads are used more. Like I said the budget tablets are for minor things.
Obviously the iPads are used more.
How does IDC or any other analyst firm figure out market share when no manufacturers report how many units they've sold? (apart from Apple). I think ComScore uses a phone survey or a few thousand people? All I'm saying is that its a guess, especially since the majority of Android tablets sold are white box models in China.
IDC tracks shipments.
How exactly do they do that since the manufacturers don't reveal shipments? Posting someone outside Samsung gates and counting the number of semi trucks? Someone on the inside at the shipping docks? Calling up a random assortments of distributors? Checking every retail store on the planet?
I'm guessing they call a few major distributors, then extrapolate using an arbitrary figure?

Unscientifically speaking, it's gotta be the case when 50% are sold at 50% discount and 50% are given away for free
Android Tablets are junk though so who cares
Maybe come back to reality if you think Android tablets are actually usable in any form.
