Android SD card help

Hi

if I delete a video on an android phone will it also be deleted from the SD card which is in the phone?

Where is the video stored? On the phone’s internal memory or the SD card?

hi, thanks for your reply. I took the video on the phone but not sure where this would have been stored. Do you know where the photos/videos are stored by default when an SD Card is in the phone?

Some phones defaulted to external memory if an SD card is detected, depending on the phone model.

I would still check the setting in your camera app to see where it is saving the photos.

How did you delete the video? If you use Google Photos, there's a Trash folder so the video might be there. Some default gallery apps will also have recently deleted folder or something similar.

Another way to check is to use your phone's file manager. Usually it can list all video files, or large files on your phone.

hi, it’s a Huawei I just bought as I lost my old one. Do you know where the default location is on a Huawei. Also in order to use google photos would I need to set this up as I currently just use the gallery app to view media, also if a video/photo was deleted in the gallery app and recently deleted would it still appear in the phones file manager? Thanks for your help

I have an Honor phone, so should be similar.
Go to Gallery, Albums, and there is a Recently Deleted folder in More albums section

I don't use SD card on mine since it comes with 128GB of storage, plenty for me.

If the video is not there, I'm afraid it's gone.

ah ok, thanks anyway. Just out of curiosity when you delete a photo/video on your phone and from recently deleted is it still viewable on your file manager app? Thanks
