I never put a lock on my phone but since I have been using this Pixel I thought I would try it. I set up a finger print plus pin and I went in to settings and add my home adsress as a safe lock location and when connected to my bluetooth stereo in my car and when on my body. Every time I hit my power button and swipe my screen it prompts me for my pin, this is useless unless I am doing something wrong

Something isn't right for you, I just set it up for my location (I never used it before) and when you turn on your screen you should see an unlocked symbol at the bottom.

You then manually click that symbol when you want to have a secured lock screen, it'll revert to an unlocked mode after you go in and use you phone though.

I've only used smart lock with connected Bluetooth devices. But I've heard countless complaints about smart lock location not working properly. Maybe reseting your connection settings, in the settings menu will help.

It works for me connected to my watch, and when in my wifes car. The other cool feature about smart lock and unlock is I can log into my Chromebook Pixel with my phone and with smart lock/unlock all I have to do is click on my username..it's wonderfully seamless.

Location based smartlock has always been incredibly hit and miss for me, whichever phone I've used.

My house is actually in a weird slight blind spot for Google Maps, so maybe that's why?

I could easily pair it with my Gear S3 smartwatch but not really that bothered tbh.
