Old Post: Any users of Tasker app? If so, how bad does it affect battery?

Been contemplating on whether or not to purchase it.

Edit: I didn't want to start a new thread so new post at the bottom.

i use it for simple stuff, like making the phone quiet at night, loud during the day, auto-kill waze when existing my car...i don't notice any extra battery drain...if there is its minimal.

i think there is a 7-day trial version that you can download from their website

I use it to change ringtone profiles depending on the place or the day and hour, enable or disable my Gentle Alarm work alarm depending on some Google calendars, switching BT on and off for my fitbit, etc And i don't think that the battery suffers a lot

Before I post at XDA I wanted to see if anyone over here can assist me.

I bought Tasker (finally) and I'm trying to set a location profile/task. I followed the instructions over at the wiki but it's not working for me.

The profile is setup as follows:

Profile: WiFi At Home
Context: Location > Net=On, GPS=Off, Radius 500m, Get Fix

Task: At Home
Action: Net > WiFi > On
Task (optional): Alert > Popup > Text "WiFi On"

Task: Leaving Home
Action: Net > WiFi > Off
Task (optional): Alert > Popup > Text "WiFi Off"

It works sometimes but the most of the time it doesn't--if that makes any sense :p

Can anyone help me?

I used it very sparingly. I had 1 task set up. If connected to my home WiFi network, it would disable any lock screen security. If not connected to that specific network it would reenable my lock pattern. Didn't notice any battery drain, it never used enough power to even appear on the list of battery draining apps on the battery page, like Chrome and my mail app.
