I'm looking for a way to tether the 3G from my Verizon Android phone to my iPad.

I've found success tethering my Android phone (the LG Ally) to my Macbook Pro, using Android app PDAnet and the appropiate program (also from PDAnet) on my Mac.

They connect via a USB cable and it works...but the truth is I'd rather take my iPad with me for internet rather than my MBP (just easier ya know?)

Any help here?

(BTW, just was wondering if that iPad camera connection kit would work considering its works that way (USB) on my MBP, but of course there isn't a PDAnet application for the iPad...)

Is your Android phone rooted? If so you can install a wireless tethering app to make the 3G available over wifi. (I've no idea about USB tethering - sorry - just saying how I do it on my Nexus One!).

I have not yet rotted my LG ally, it seems/sounds complicated.

Currently i've been using tethering apps....
