Android Versus Apple Smartphones At CES

More centered around the size than anything else but Apple needs to give those interested in the iphone more options IMHO as far as the screen in the future which I agree.

I have a feeling there were probably a lot more I phones at CES than there appeared to be, probably stuffed in pockets for personal use. Many at CES are using phones from the vendors to try out. Many are from competing manufacturers to Apple and using their work Android phone. CES has very little Apple influence, so not to surprised to hear the iPhone was rarely seen.

A true test will be to see what phones are primarily used at a software conference that isn't OS biased. South by Southwest aka SXSW will be a good indicator and I have a feeling we'll see a 50/50 split of iOS and Android.

Here's a rather revealing story about smartphone choices amongst those who use them ...

About 150,000 people attended the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this year, about 5,000 of whom were tech journalists.
Yet everywhere you went, people were using large-format Android phones instead of Apple’s iPhones, which are generally smaller.

There is an assumption that most tech bloggers are Apple fanboys and girls. Yet when I got in line to see the big Samsung keynote address on Day 1 of the show, the crew from one of Business Insider’s more annoying rival publications were all using Android.

Bait article. There are larger droids around because all the smaller sized ones like the Galaxy Mini series are trash phones, the only exception I can think of would be the soon to be released Z Compact.

Perhaps it made you uncomfortable, but the world is full of opinions and forums in which to discuss them.

It's a little unfair to compare one model, the iPhone to all the various android phones. Now if you say iPhone vs galaxy or iPhone vs lg Optimus that'd be a fairer comparison IMHO.

I see your point. The thing to consider is that the iPhone is an entire platform of itself, with several versions being sold at any time.

As for the article, I'm not really surprised. For a tech enthusiast, there really isn't anything exciting going with Apple devices. Enthusiasts/journalists need change and things to talk about and play with. Apple, specifically anything on iOS, doesn't give them that.

It is indeed someone baiting and looking for hits, look at the way its written. Are there small androids out there, yes there is but its unlikely you'll see any half-baked miniaturized flagships at a tech convention.

I think its very much a bait article. Its a ridiculous headline given the data he had to go by (his eyes and perceptions). If he had some proper data (say distribution of devices connecting to the wifi networks) then he would be justified in using that headline.
