anyone know why the person reading my messages can't see the animation (i.e. Balloons/confetti)?

It's iPhone 6 to iPhone 6s both on iOS 10.

Have you tried anything that has been suggested in various other threads about this kind of thing (like checking the reduce motion option, disabling/re-enabling iMessage, restarting, etc.)?

Didn't see the other thread...having both of us deactivating and deactivating iMessage worked. Weird, shouldn't have to do that.
