Animation software?

Hey gang, I am looking for software that I can make animated GIFs with, preferably free...I guess I need something similar to JASC Animaton Shop for PC....anyone know of anything like this? I tried one, the name slips my mind, and it was horrible. Easy to use, but the final product had almost no color...thanks in advance.

GIFfun is the one I have. It works fine but the colors are so messed up in the final GIF that it is pointless to use. Thanks though!
