I got an Anker USB C to Lightning Audio Adaptor, but it does not work. In System Preferences, under sound, this is what it shows:

the instructions with the adapter say to do this…

- Connect the adapter to Mac.

- Connect Lightning-headphone to the adapter.

- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Sound.

- Choose the Output tab and select "Lightning Audio Adapter Output.”

- Choose the Input tab and select "Lightning Audio Adapter Input.”

I see you are on the input screen. What about the he output screen. The button is right beside the input button on your screenshot.

Just for those who are having the same issue, I FINALLY resolved it! Make sure your "do not disturb" on your computer is off! Mine was on, and that seemed to be the issue.
