When this feature was released, I believe with 13.2, I’ve only had this work correctly once or twice. 95% of the time when I get an iMessage, the chime will play as normal to indicate I have a message it’s going to read but then the volume of whatever I’m listening to gets turned way up instead of down. So when Siri reads the message it’s so quiet and drowned out by my music which is now blasting in my ears. It’s been doing this consistently since I updated with the exception of the one or two times it seemed to work correctly.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I updated to 13.2.2 and it’s still happening.

I can understand turning up the “separate” volume setting for Siri. But, that doesn’t explain why the volume of what I’m currently listening to dramatically increasing while Siri speaks. It would seem the opposite would make sense and to do that automatically. That being said, I haven’t yet tried what you suggested so I’ll see what happens.

This would also explain why often when I use Siri in the car, she’s painfully loud but my music is at a comfortable level. It’s annoying to have to toggle these back and forth.
